Warehouse Team Leader

Vickerstock are working EXCLUSIVELY with our leading Wholesale Distribution Client - supplying business throughout the island of Ireland - on the appointment of a Warehouse Team Lead for their Newry based facility.

As the successful Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the operation, ensuring that standards and correct processes are adhered to.

Your day to day:

  • Goods inwards, put-away, Replenishment, Pick to Zero and Stock control operations.
  • Performance management - training and development of team
  • Food safety procedures - fresh goods handling - HACCP
  • Determine forecasts, headcount planning
  • Driving a strong H&S culture and behavioural mindset.
  • Implementing warehouse safety programs specifically for cold storage.
  • Hold team accountable for targets, actions, and results.
  • Controlling and improve operational performance, service delivery, team management and development, legal compliance, cost, and quality.
  • Identifying team talent, developing team members, and driving exceptional people performance.
  • Ability to maintain and promote good recordkeeping and legislative practices
  • Demonstrable passion and commitment to delivering outstanding service to customers and colleagues.


Your essential ingredients

  • Operational, warehousing and commercial experience, within a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience of managing/leading teams in a fast paced environment, working under pressure
  • Proven ability to develop and empower Team members to deliver results on the frontline.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Strong, visible, and active leadership presence
  • Stock Control, PI counting, stock count total management and investigations.
  • Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Customer focused/led approach
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable

  • Lean / Continuous Improvement tools / methodologies
  • Counterbalance licence
