Mechanical Design Engineer

Louth

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist team operating within high speed cutting edge manufacturing based in Louth

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead the design and development of automated equipment
  • Design mechatronic systems, including mechanisms, robotics, pneumatics, electrical components and servo systems.
  • Create 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor
  • Select and specify components, perform engineering calculations, and optimize designs.
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation, including risk assessments and FMEAs.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the business and engineering processes.

Qualifications

  • 8 years previous experience with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven expertise in mechanical design, engineering sign-off, installation, and commissioning.
  • Strong SolidWorks skills
  • Experience in automation and mechatronic equipment development is a plus.
  • Ability to lead a mechatronic design team and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments and FMEAs.
  • Full driver's license required.
