Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health and Safety Officer.

As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health & Safety policies to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.

In your new role:

• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, including manual handling, COSHH, and fire prevention
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations, reducing risks and preventing accidents
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Act as the key point of contact for external bodies on Health & Safety matters
• Participate in monthly meetings, presenting relevant Health & Safety data
• Identify training needs in collaboration with department managers
• Develop and implement effective training programmes aligned with company goals
• Deliver induction and job-specific training for new employees, as well as ongoing training for existing colleagues
• Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to Health & Safety and training
• Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement

What you will need to succeed:

• 3+ years' experience within a similar Health & Safety role
• Relevant Health and Safety qualifications
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with ISO standards and auditing
• Experience in coordinating and delivering training
• Good communication skills
• IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

• IOSH Membership
• NEBOSH Diploma
