Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a major manufacturing business on the appointment of a Warehouse & Supply Planning Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This is a brand new position within the company which is in line with recent investment to assist with the business's expansion plans for 2025 and beyond!

As the Warehouse & Supply Planning Manager you will provide leadership to the wider Supply Chain and ensure that production plans are effectively executed with efficiency. You will also have oversight of the warehouse function, managing stock levels, raw materials and timely delivery of products to customers while also providing strong leadership and development to your team.


In your new role:

  • Drive continuous improvement by regularly reviewing supply chain processes and implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to the Supply Chain team, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Monitor and manage the production plan and sales forecast to ensure supplier deliveries align with production schedules, maximising output and meeting customer requirements on time and in full (OTIF).
  • Ensure the Supply Chain team adheres to standard operating procedures, maintaining a safe, efficient, and results-driven work environment.
  • Oversee the end-to-end customer order management process, including order intake, processing, and transportation coordination, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Track and report internal and external customer service KPIs, proactively addressing any issues and keeping the Leadership Team informed of critical developments.
  • Leverage operational knowledge of production planning to identify and recommend improvements, including the potential introduction of production scheduling software.
  • Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Manage stock levels through MRP systems and supplier agreements, ensuring optimal inventory control and availability.
  • Assess and monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and delivery commitments.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including the receipt of raw materials and the shipment of finished goods, optimising workflows and minimising delays.
  • Manage third-party warehouse operations, ensuring all non-costed charges are accurately accounted for and passed back to customers where applicable.
  • Act as the key point of escalation for critical issues related to product non-conformance, safety, and supply chain disruptions, working closely with the Leadership Team to resolve challenges efficiently.


What you will need to succeed:

  • 3 years' recent experience in a fast moving, high volume manufacturing facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Analytic thinker with strong problem-solving ability

Advantageous:

  • Experience working in a lean environment
  • Experience in implementing supply chain systems (MRP/ERP)
