Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a construction and civil engineering firm on the appointment of a Senior SHEQ Advisor.
As a Senior SHEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality assurance on construction projects.
In your new role:
- Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety and Environmental regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and promptly adapts to required changes
- Support and implement new work processes to minimise or eliminate hazards throughout the organisation
- Effectively allocate SHEQ Team resources to meet the needs of each project or site
- Oversee and manage CDM responsibilities in line with current regulations
- Collaborate with clients and counterparts across the business to understand delivery expectations and reach agreements on SHEQ matters for each project
- Contribute to tender documentation by ensuring the inclusion of SHEQ submissions
- Support the development of documentation required for the SHEQ Management System to align with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards
What you will need to succeed:
- 4+ years' experience within a similar senior H&S role - Civil Engineering/Construction
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc)
- Strong experience with ISO standards and auditing (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Experience with report writing, organisation or planning
- IOSH membership
- Good communication and people management skills
- IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
- Full clean driving license - travel to site required
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- Environmental or Quality certifications
- Knowledge of Windfarm or Rail works
- NEBOSH Diploma
