Electrical Maintenance Engineer

County Louth

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing manufacturing company, in their search for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer with SCADA expertise.

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising electrical systems, as well as ensuring the seamless operation of SCADA systems. Working as part of a dynamic team the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will contribute to ensuring that electrical equipment operates efficiently and meets industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of this role;

  • Conduct routine and reactive electrical maintenance for a wide range of electrical systems, including machinery, control panels, and associated equipment.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SCADA systems to monitor, control, and optimise electrical operations.
  • Identify and resolve electrical faults in a timely manner to minimise system downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise electrical systems and SCADA platforms, recommending improvements to boost efficiency and performance.
  • Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance programs for electrical equipment, including motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system faults, repairs, and inspections. Report on the performance and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Assist in electrical project installations, upgrades, and the commissioning of new systems.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and troubleshooting.

What you will need to succeed in this role;

  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in working with SCADA systems
  • Significant experience in electrical maintenance, including fault diagnosis, repairs, and optimisations.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, VSDs and other electrical control systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits, and electrical testing procedures.
  • A thorough understanding of electrical safety standards and legislation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex electrical and control system issues.
