Vickerstock are working in partnership with our client who are Irelands fastest growing business within their specialist industry who take pride in upholding the highest standards of quality in every product they produce.

As a Quality Manager you will report to the Technical Manager and work as part of the Quality team to develop close working relationships with production and maintenance teams, manage site food safety and quality in compliance with legal requirements.

Key duties

  • Work with all departments and management colleagues to ensure that the food safety, quality, and legality of all products produced is being maintained at all times.
  • provide technical expertise and advice in the areas of food safety.
  • Manage, implement, and monitor the Food Safety Management system including the HACCP plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement through developing and progressing the current quality systems and operational processes.
  • Encourage, manage and develop the Quality Assurance team, by leading by example, encouraging teamwork and driving improved performance.
  • Ensure all required departmental audits are carried out with effective corrective actions implemented and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the hygiene function to ensure effective hygiene of the site.
  • Completing complaint investigations, identifying root cause, implementing effective corrective, preventive actions.
  • Conducting site risk assessments as guided.


Criteria

  • Ideally hold a 3rd level qualification in a food science related subject
  • Previous Quality Management experience within food manufacturing
  • Strong people management skills and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of auditing, quality standards and systems, quality management techniques such as HACCP, Process Control, and knowledge of food legislation
  • Experience working and implementing food safety management systems that comply with GFSI standards including BRC.


You will work on a Monday - Friday Day Shift basis but some flexibility is required due to nature of the role. Salary in return will be negotiable depending on experience (more information at application stage).
