Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a Building Materials & Hardware supplier on the appointment of a Procurement Manager.

This role has been created due to the continuous growth and development of the business.

In our new role:

  • Sourcing & building relationships with key suppliers negotiating best price & lead times whilst continually monitoring performance
  • Work closely with other member of the procurement department to develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a fast paced, purchasing department at a senior level
  • Experienced in using MRP/ERP systems

Desirable:

  • Experience in buying fixings and fastenings from the far east
