Mechanical Engineer (With Design)

EXCLUSIVE TO VICKERSTOCK

Location: Ballymena

Hours for work: 8am - 4.30

On Offer: £35-45K depending on experience

Holidays: 30 days total (Factory closures: 1 week Easter, 2 weeks July and 1 ½ weeks Christmas)

The Firm: Our client is a successful, local, close nit, home grown, smaller family engineering / manufacturing product business. They operate to a strong work ethic and have a culture of collaboration and team work to achieve goals. They have a strong secure order book and operate to tight turnaround promises to their customers; which are proud of and it is particularly important to them as a company.

The Role: They are seeking a rounded Engineer for this very hands on, involved position. The successful person will maybe spend up to 40-50% of their time designing and developing their products, with the core of the role being very involved across the manufacturing / engineering floor. They will be involved in some prototype design and building in the engineering workshop and will also set up machinery across the factory floor for operators. They also will have an attitude towards improving efficiencies company wide, where possible.

Essential:

• At least 2 years relatable engineering experience
• A competency in 3D mechanical design engineering software - Solidworks, Solid Edge, Inventor, ProE and Creo will all be considered
• A willingness to engage and collaborate across the factory floor to achieve the desired outputs and improvements
• A desire to build and develop prototypes as well as to use and set up manufacturing machinery
• A relevant 3rd level qualification
