Hygiene Manager


Working with one of Ireland's premier brands within the Food Manufacturing Sector.


Recognised for excellence, they are embarking on a new phase of transformation to scale their operations and achieve their ambitious vision. With a state-of-the-art factory, our Client wants to ensure that hygiene is at the centre of their food manufacturing culture.


Reporting into the Technical Manager, the Hygiene Manager is the lynchpin of the operations department.


Your day to day as the successful Hygiene Manager
The purpose of the role will be to provide an effective hygiene management, to ensure full compliance with relevant legal, customers, BRC and Company standards.

  • Work closely with the production and planning teams to ensure that production areas and equipment can be released, so that they can be cleaned to the highest standard whilst minimising downtime.
  • Ensure that a comprehensive cleaning plan is in place, reviewed and developed.
  • Introduce best in class practice to site.
  • Audit equipment and areas after the hygiene process has taken place and report on tasks performed, to include conducting visual inspections and hygiene swabs of environment and equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to ensure performance is constantly challenged and improved.
  • Maintain cleaning standards, records, and procedures in a state compliant to BRC and other relevant audit standards.

Your essential ingredients
You will possess senior hygiene team leading or management experience, have good knowledge of food safety requirements and hygiene related qualifications i.e. COSHH, IOSH

Ideally you will be trained to BRC standard or have extensive experience in BRC audits in your current role, including Retailer standards (e.g. Tesco, M&S).

It would be advantageous to have the following:

  • Microsoft Office
  • HACCP Level 3 | Food Safety Level 2
  • Trained in pest awareness.
  • Experience of managing budgets
