Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with an environmental services firm on the appointment of an HSEQ Manager.

As the HSEQ Manager, you will oversee workplace activities to ensure employee adherence to company policies and safety regulations. Responsibilities will include developing policies, conducting audits, performing safety inspections, delivering safety training, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety documentation.

In your new role:

  • Lead the Health & Safety function and enforce Safe Working Practices across the company, including Fleet, Plant, and Equipment compliance
  • Develop and update company policies and procedures aligned with the Information Management System
  • Review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and the Safety Statement
  • Chair or attend internal and external HSEQ meetings
  • Investigate, document, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, ensuring timely corrective actions and follow-ups
  • Coordinate and manage Safety Audits and systems to ensure adherence to HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Organise and oversee HSEQ induction and training for employees and sub-contractors, maintaining relevant documentation
  • Identify and address ongoing HSQE training needs, ensuring timely completion of mandatory training
  • Oversee and maintain HSEQ-related IT systems and reporting
  • Prepare and update documentation for Safety Audits and Accreditation
  • Review and assess sub-contractors' Safety Policies and compliance
  • Draft Health & Safety content for tender submissions

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2+ years' experience within a similar H&S management role
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications
  • Experience with ISO standards and auditing
  • People management skills
  • Experience with report writing
  • Good communication skills
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Experience within the Environmental, Construction or Utilities industries
  • IOSH Membership
  • NEBOSH Diploma
