Vickerstock are working in partnership with a specialist manufacturing company based in the Carrickfergus area to recruit a Fitter. Our client is one of the top manufaturers in their field across Europe.

Your responsibilities as a Fitter:

• Sharpen all required tooling
• Spotting of die, wear plates and inserts
• Perform welding assignments
• Recognise and correct problems during die assembly/disassembly
• Perform finishing assignments
• Use measuring instruments
• Finish parts to print, after machining is completed
• Carry out training of other employees
• Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance to Health and Safety Practice
• Participate and lead information sharing, team working and Continuous Improvement Programmes
• Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and requirements of the Environmental Management System, both in normal and emergency situations
• Other duties as assigned

To be successfull as a Fitter, ideally you will have:

• Time served and likely to come from a mechanical maintenance background
• Welding experience
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Customer focus
• Results focus
• Able to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
• Able to see activities through to completion
• Available to work shifts
