Vickerstock are working in partnership with a major food wholesale business on the appointment of a Warehouse Team Lead, working within the frozen, chilled, and fresh department.

As the Warehouse Team Lead, you will manage a team of 12-15 operatives and will report directly to the Section Lead daily, ensuring that the team are aligned with company standards and procedures to maintain and exceed customer expectations.

On Offer:

£14.57 per hour paid weekly (£29,547.96 per annum)

Anything over 39hours paid at x1.5 e.g. supplier let downs, during holiday period, sickness within team

Tax free, twice yearly, bonus, June and December - between £500-1000

Hours of work: hours of work will be 6am - 2.30pm, with the flexibility of covering holidays, 08.30am-5pm. 39hr week: 5days over Monday to Saturday (day off on rotation) see below: -

• Week 1 - Monday to Saturday (with Tuesday off)
• Week 2 - Monday to Saturday (with Friday off)
• Week 3 - Monday to Friday (with Saturday Sunday and Monday off)
• Week 4 - Tuesday to Saturday

In your new role:

• Goods inwards, goods put-away, Replenishment, Pick to Zero and Stock control operations.
• Training & development of team
• Performance team management, holding your team accountable for targets, actions, and results.
• Promptly deal with customer queries and complaints
• Implementing warehouse safety programs specifically for cold storage.
• Ensure all operations are run according to best practice in Health & Safety, and as per company policies and procedures and legislation.
• Absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance management.
• Ability to maintain and promote good recordkeeping & legislative practices, and an understanding of the importance of excellent internal operating procedures.
• Demonstrable passion and commitment to delivering outstanding service to customers and colleagues.
• Support the recruitment, selection and evaluation processes of your teams.

What you will need to succeed:

• Previous experience in a food wholesale/distribution business
• Experience in frozen and chilled warehouses
• Strong communication skills with the ability to delegate to staff
• Problem solver who can provide solutions to management
• HACCP qualification is desirable
