Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a construction and civil engineering firm on the appointment of a SHEQ Advisor.

As a SHEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality assurance on construction projects.

In your new role:

  • Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Carry out safety audits, inspections, and investigations; produce reports and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Oversee the preparation and periodic review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Record, investigate, and implement recommended improvements for all accidents and near-misses
  • Ensure site inductions are delivered to all employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Organise and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees
  • Manage and update all relevant administrative tasks within the SHEQ Department
  • Support the development of documentation required for the SHEQ Management System to align with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2+ years' experience within a similar H&S role - Civil Engineering/Construction
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc)
  • Experience with ISO standards and auditing (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Experience with report writing, organisation or planning
  • Good communication skills
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
  • Full clean driving license - travel to site required

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Environmental or Quality certifications
  • Knowledge of Windfarm or Rail works
  • NEBOSH Diploma
