Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing WholesaleDistribution business on the appointment of a Purchasing Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent position for someone close to the Down/Louth border area. Hybrid work is also available for the successful applicant.

As the Purchasing Manager, you will have full oversight of and responsibility for the purchasing department and will work closely with the MD. You will manage supplier relationships effectively while creating cost effective purchasing strategies while enusring service level to customers remains strong.

In your new role:

• Manage supplier relationships and source new products for the customer base

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies

• Negotiate contracts, prices, and lead times.

• Attend tradeshows to meet and greet customers and suppliers to gain understanding of market trends

• Manage inventory levels via ERP

• Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets

What you will need to succeed:

• Past purchasing experience, ideally at a senior level

• Wholesale/Distribution/FMCG industry experience

• Strong communicator and negotiator

• Willingness to travel to trade events
