Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a Building Materials & Hardware supplier on the appointment of a Purchasing Manager.
This role has been created due to the continuous growth and development of the business.

In our new role:
- Sourcing & building relationships with key suppliers negotiating best price & lead times whilst continually monitoring performance
- Work closely with other member of the procurement department to develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
What you will need to succeed:
- A minimum of 5 years experience working in a fast paced, purchasing department at a senior level
- Experienced in using MRP/ERP systems
Desirable:
- Experience in buying fixings and fastenings from the far east
