Job description
Vickerstock are proud recruitment partners of our leading food manufacturing client with the appointment of a Production Manager for their North Wales based site. The Production Manager is a key member of the SMT, driving forward best in class manufacturing performance alongside continuous operational improvement.

Your day to day:
- Deliver best in class standards and performance in all aspects of packing re unit cost, quality, yield/wastage, customer service, compliance and budget objectives
- Produce a first-class product within specification and to customer requirements
- Effective hygiene controls.
- Monitor product quality; identify, address and resolve any non-conformances.
- Implement a structured approach to CI activities
- Optimise plant performance by ensuring all plant and equipment is properly operated, maintained and cleaned to minimise downtime.
- Support despatch and logistics to meet customer requirements
- Develop and manage the team to build a trained and flexible workforce.
- Maintain the necessary systems, procedures, training and working practices to deliver best practice and meet the requirements of site management, group policies, accreditation bodies, customer requirements and statutory compliance.
Your essential ingredients
- Proven experience of operating at a similar level in a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical skill set and track record of delivery against quality and safety standards
- Demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team in a target focused environment
- Proved track record of developing a lean culture and delivering process improvements i.e. 5S, Kaizen
- Experience with GMP, statutory compliance and accreditation bodies e.g. BRC
- Ability to communicate to/work with to a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised, strong attention to detail and an ability to work under time constraints
- Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't).
- Degree in a relevant subject e.g. Business, Management, Operations
- IOSH, NEBOSH, HACCP Qualification
