Job description
Vickertock are working in partnership with a supplier of materials to the construction sector on the appointment of a Purchasing Manager.
With a strong focus on continuous improvement and cost saving you will be reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, leading the busy procurement department and ensuring materials are on site on time.

In your new role:
- Provide inspirational leadership to the department ensuring the team is prepared and motivated for the tasks ahead
- Sourcing suppliers negotiating best price and lead time on materials
- Develop relationships with new and existing supplier continually monitoring performance ensuring all materials are on site and on time
- Carry out cost saving projects
- Strong focus on continuous improvement within the department, enhancing systems & processes to advance the company's MRP automation, delivering the right quantity of raw materials on time to production
- Develop a reliable, cost-effective pool of hauliers operating UK and Ireland wide
- Responsible for the company's approved list of leased vehicles and cost-effective fuel sourcing options
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the company strategic plan. Prepare and present a monthly report for the executive board
What you will need to succeed:
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a fast paced, procurement department at management level
- Experienced in MRP/ERP systems
- Experience in dealing with global suppliers and international procurement markets
