Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a civil specialist construction firm on the appointment of a Health and Safety Officer.
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will leverage your expertise to foster a strong health and safety culture while delivering support across our sites in the UK and Ireland. Your role will involve ensuring that all company employees and subcontractors consistently adhere to applicable health and safety regulations, align with the company's health and safety policies, and implement industry best practices effectively.
In your new role:
- Support site teams with the preparation & review of paperwork including Safe Systems of Work, RAMS and COSHH Assessments
- Accident/Incident reporting and investigation
- Administration of Integrated Management Systems
- Complete regular Health & Safety Inspections and Audits
- Assist project teams to develop and review Construction Phase Plans and Site Safety Control registers
- Maintaining records of inspection results and preparing reports with recommendations for improvements
- Keep up to date with new Health and Safety Legislation and any developments that affect the business
What you will need to succeed:
- 2+ years' experience working in Construction, Fit-Out or Facilities Management industry
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification (Construction)
- Experience with on-site auditing and report writing
- Experience in developing and reviewing Construction Phase Plans and RAMS
- IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
- Full clean driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- Membership of accredited industry body (IOSH)
- NEBOSH General certification
