Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with an industrial contractor on the appointment of a Health and Safety Manager.

As an HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking duties covering all aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace.

In your new role:

  • Ensure the development of the Company's Health and Safety Management systems across all projects
  • Develop and implement risk assessments, method statements, and improvements to the safe systems of work
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety Legislation for both employees and contractors
  • Continuously review and update H&S policies and procedures, implementing changes as necessary and communicating them to all stakeholders
  • Conduct investigations into Health and Safety incidents and near misses
  • Conduct Health & Safety auditing and address non-conformances
  • Prepare monthly Health and Safety reports and compile health and safety statistics
  • Undertake site inspections and deliver training to staff
  • Ensure that contractors' codes of practice are current and followed by all employees and contractors

What you will need to succeed:

  • At least 4 years' experience in a Health and Safety role
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH Diploma / IOSH)
  • Experience in implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes
  • Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience in conducting Health and Safety investigations
  • Experience in managing and implementing Health and Safety management systems
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrable experience in building relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
  • A full driver's licence and ability to travel without restrictions (UK/EU)

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Additional H&S related certifications
