Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a civil and structural engineering firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Coordinator.

As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will prepare documentation as part of the Principal Designer duties in accordance with the CDM Regulations, reviewing Health & Safety information from Designers and Contractors with occasional site Health & Safety inspections.

In your new role:

  • Assist in the delivery of the Principal Designer role in accordance with the CDM Regulations
  • Liaise with Design Team Members, Contractors, Clients
  • Provide CDM and H&S advice to project team members
  • Prepare Pre-Construction Information and H&S Files
  • Review Contractors' Construction Phase Plans
  • Represent the company at Design Team / Client meetings
  • Complete site H&S inspections

What you will need to succeed:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • NEBOSH General or Construction certification
  • Awareness of Health & Safety / CDM legislation
  • Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
  • Full clean driving license and access to transport

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Membership of accredited industry body (IOSH)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Civil or Structural Engineering background
