Reporting to the Slaughter Hall Manager, the Lairage Supervisor will be responsible for receiving and storing cattle and sheep in accordance with animal welfare best practice guidelines.

What a typical day as Evening Lairage Supervisor will look like:

  • Unloading and transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter
  • Reading ear tags and allocating kill numbers
  • Checking permits and carrying out FCI and transport audits
  • Ensuring permits and information is put on to the system correctly
  • Assist with the daily cleaning schedule in Lairage.
  • Maintaining Health, Safety and Hygiene Standards in accordance with company rules and regulations

Your essential ingredients:

  • Possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in cattle and sheep handling.
  • Knowledge of animal welfare best practice.
  • Must have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst also working as part of a team
